Criteria Checklist

You will need to be able to answer yes to these checklist criteria questions in order to proceed to and / or be considered for the next stage of the application.

We have very strict admittance criteria to self-employed transcribers.  This is purely to ensure we deliver the best service possible to our clients.

It is assumed all applicants will already posses and be conversant with the use of PC based transcription equipment prior to applying.

Do you have a home PC with a firewall and anti virus software installed with a minimum of Windows 7 technology?

Do you have PC based transcription software operated by a footpedal?

Do you have quality headphones that have a wide range frequency, distortion levels and independent volume?

Do you have a good understanding of the English language, grammar and spelling?

Are you UK based?

Have you worked as a legal / medical / audio secretary for more than 3 years?

Do you have transcription experience with interviews, focus groups, meetings?

Are you available to work during the daytime, or at least 20 hours per week, sufficient to meet deadlines in place?

Can you provide two independent references that can substantiate your experience and expertise in the field of audio transcription?

Are you wiling to adhere to our house standards?

Are you trustworthy and confidential information? Will you enter into a standard Confidentiality Agreement with us?
